H.U.R.B., P.S. and B.O.L.T. brings together practical psychological ideas designed to help make difficult thoughts, decisions, and actions more understandable and manageable.

The framework moves from understanding what the mind is saying, to deciding what direction is useful, to finding a realistic way to take action.

About the Book

Sometimes understanding a problem is not enough.

A person may recognize an unhelpful belief and still feel stuck. They may know what they want to do but have difficulty deciding what direction makes sense. Or they may know exactly what needs to happen and still struggle to begin, organize, persist, or return after getting off track.

H.U.R.B., P.S. and B.O.L.T. offers three complementary ways of approaching those moments.

H.U.R.B. helps examine the meaning we give to thoughts, experiences, and outcomes.

P.S. helps move from understanding toward a reasonable direction: What is preferred? What actually serves the person’s life?

B.O.L.T. helps bridge the gap between deciding and doing by making the next step smaller, clearer, and more workable.

Together, the ideas emphasize understanding without getting stuck in analysis, structure without shame, and movement toward one reasonable next step.

A Framework for Workable Change

The book explores a simple but important idea:

Insight should eventually lead somewhere useful.

That does not mean perfect performance, automatic compliance, or completing everything at once. Progress may involve beginning, changing the plan, using support, returning after getting off track, completing part of a task, or establishing a clear place to begin again.

The goal is not perfect productivity.

The goal is a direction and a plan that a person can actually use.
